SUMMARY:FTC 2018-19 Season Kickoff
DESCRIPTION:The FIRST Tech Challenge Annual Kickoff Event for the 2018-2019 season took place at Arizona State University’s Tempe Memorial Union on September 9. The kickoff is nationally aligned with the FTC programs across the country to reveal the season’s field. The field and mission are based on the season’s theme. \nThe 2018-19 theme for the FIRST Tech Challenge is “Rover Ruckus”\, and this Kickoff event premiered the game field. Following the introduction of the game field\, teams were able to connect with other teams\, examine the elements of the field\, and speak to FTC personnel. Familiarizing games and activities were held and workshops were provided for new teams and novice team members. \nBack row (Left to right): Erfan\, Collin\, Mr. Spence\, Mr. Robert Middle row: Farrsh\, Hosam\, Abdullah\, Omar\, Mr. Parker Front row: Nadra\, Jareen\, Jinia\, Baya Not pictured: Lina\n\nWe participated in the activities and got to know the members of other teams. After lunch\, we split up and some of our members attended mechanical designs\, marketing\, and fundraising workshops. \nHosam\, Abdullah\, and Omar attended the mechanical designs workshop to collect more information on designing and building this year’s robot.\n\n\nWe finished our workshops and were dismissed by 3:00PM. The Kickoff officially ended at 4:00PM. \n\n
